I studied industrial design in college and entered household product design after graduation. However, I gradually realized that much of my work focused on conceptual design, aesthetics, and simple user-centered functionality, which felt limiting. The industrialized production process further constrained my ideas. I became more drawn to designs that convey artistic and emotional expression.
I want to express more of my ideas through interactive design and break through the boundaries of traditional design. However, technical limitations showed me that I needed new tools and knowledge, which led me to the ITP program. Although product design can say a lot and give people different feelings and emotions, I want to explore new forms of expression and communicate emotions in a multidimensional, multisensory way.
Due to my strong interest in emotional expression, I plan to focus more on the psychological changes within people. In future projects, I aim to incorporate these changes into different mediums (such as images, sound, installations) and combine them with multisensory experiences—visual, auditory, and tactile, and spatial. Through interaction with various media, I hope to tell stories within people's inner selves, helping them connect with their inner world and explore deeper meanings.
